i think one of the things i enjoy the most about my morning commute is christian radio, specifically k-love. it keeps me focused on the positive + encouraging things while singing out His praises. the morning show, with lisa and eric, just started the forty day love dare (based on the book, the love dare). have you seen the movie fireproof? apparently the book was featured in the movie (which i haven't seen, but heard rave reviews). and after watching the preview, it's on my must-see list this weekend!
... this is a journey of exploring and demonstrating genuine love, even when your desire is dry and your motives are low. The truth is, love is a decision and not just a feeling. It is selfless, sacrificial, and transformational. And when love is truly demonstrated as it was intended, your relationship is more likely to change for the better.
whether our marriages are strong or holding on by a thread, i think this 40-day journey could benefit us all. i love this from the blog...

and, even if you're single, love still exists in all of our relationships. i think these concepts could easily be applied to each and every one. in fact, i bet it would be amazing to try it! friends, family, co-workers, neighbors ... they all need His love, which can be shown through us if we open ourselves up to it.
the day-one love dare is about patience ... oh boy, oh, boy, oh boy. day 1 is definitely a challenge :) let's all say a prayer for strong marriages and families tonight!
