My baby grandson had a minor surgery this week that resolved a problem, which left unattended could have been a big problem when he’s older. Though it pains me to see him twinging in pain now, how much better to know that it could be resolved now with a little pain, rather than being a “big pain” in the future.
I could not help but relate to how we sometimes won’t face our problems and take them to the Lord early, but because of the pain they bring up, we let them ride until they consume us. How much better to let the Savoir in and let him do a little surgery now, than be living with the results of our sins or heartaches later.
Sometimes it takes a bit for us to realize we have a need either because we are busy, in denial, or just didn't understand things were out of kilter. Procrastination is not the answer once we become aware!
Romans 12:12 says: continuing instant in prayer. We want instant food, instant messaging, and instant money. Why not an instant remedy for whatever is burdening our hearts.
Jesus didn’t wait a second to respond to our prayer for Salvation. In fact he doesn’t wait to answer our prayers ever. Sometimes we have to wait for the answer to be revealed, but in God’s book, prayer and response are “instant.”
11Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Psalm 42:11(KJV)
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. Romans 12:12
Thank you, Lord, for instant conversation between you and me. Help all the people who think they are not worthy, or must go through someone else to get prayers answered, see the truth provided in your Word that prayer was meant to be an easy conversation with an all powerful God. You speak to the lowly the same as the most “righteous.” You hear us one and all. I praise You for being the health of my countenance, and instant hope. AMEN
