Casting Crown has a song called Praise You in The Storm.
I was sure by now.
You would have reached and wiped our tears away.
Stepped in and save the day.
But once again, I say "amen" and its still raining.
In my last post, I spoke about the faith walk I am on with selling my house.
It was a challenge to all of us to face the facts of our problems and stilll remain in faith. So it would have been like totally awesome if after my profession of faith to remain steadfast in the hands of God, someone came along and bought our house right?
In the black church, that would have been "good shouting" right there. In the charismatic circles, that testimony would make some run laps in the church. LOL
Instead, just this past week we had a offer on the house that we negotiated to a nice price and what happened....the buyers backed out! That makes the 3rd time!
I was tempted with negative self talk. I was reminded of decisions we made. And the accusations came flying. Then I asked myself a simple question.
WHAT HAS CHANGED????
Has God somehow lost his power?
Has God somehow slipped off His throne in heaven?
Will God now take a back seat to my feelings of disappointment?
Nothing has changed.
So I titled this post "Ditto"because the same thing I wrote last week STILL applies. I will face the facts and still have faith.
Admittedly, there could be some of you reading this thinking, "Big deal chick! You can't sell your house. My problems are a LOT bigger than that."
Some of you might be right. But let me ask you. Does that change God? Are His promises somehow void?
You still need to face the facts and have faith no matter what you are dealing with. Be strong. Dare to believe that God can and will do it for YOU! Focus not on the problems but how you can lean into God to find the strength you need.
God I pray for fruit that remains! Strengthen those who are in storms that have been lasting a while and those whose end is not in sight. Fortify them with the belt of truth. Let their faith just like Abraham. Rise!
