One day Moses said tot he Lord, "You have been telling me, 'Take these people up to the Promised Land.' But you haven't told me whom you will send with me. Ex 33:12a
Ever been in a place where you have been given direction from God but the details are still fuzzy? At somepoint in our lives as Christians, we have all sought the Lord for direction. We think we'd be satisfied if he would just show us which way to go but we aren't. We need more.
Once you get that direction, ever been in a place where you are asking God to send you help on the task you have before you? In this passage Moses had direction but was looking for some more support.
"You have told me to do this. Great! Now where is my help?"
I am at this place in my life. I am really trying to get a business off the ground. It is something I know the Lord has told me to. As I do my part, I am finding there are SO many components that I am not qualified to do.
I don't know law, so I need a lawyer. I don't know taxes, so I need an accountant. In my prayer time today I felt like Moses. God you told me to do this and you know what it would cost and what I would need. So send the help!"
God spoke to my heart and reminded me of something I heard just last week. If I am really trying, I am not really trusting. God doesn't try to do anything.
He just does. He isn't struggling to get anything accomplished. It is done. He knows the beginning from the end. Don't misunderstand. We have to do our parts. If God told you to write a book, we have to sit down and write it.
We can't sit on hands and say I am trusting God that the book will miraculously get written. What I mean when I say I am really trying, is that I am struggling to make this happen and manifest NOW. I feel like I am trying to run in waist deep water and all I am is getting is exhausted.
I am relying on my own understanding not trusting in God's timing or provision.
In Exodus 33:14 God answered Moses inquiry about who will go with him and who will help.
The Lord replied, "I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest--everything will be fine for you."
This scriptue was like water to my dry thirsty soul. Moses, just like us, was looking for help to come from some other way instead of relying on the way maker.
Let the words of this scripture comfort you today. Everything will be fine for you, because God will personally escort you to the place of promise He has for you!
